For an owner-managed company, the business and personal tax position are the same conversation. How you take money out, who holds the shares and when you sell all change the tax you pay, so we look at them together and agree a plan before the tax year ends rather than after.

How we work
Every engagement starts with a no-obligation conversation with Doug or Stephen. We then set out the scope, timings and a fixed fee in writing before any work begins, and you keep the same partner as your point of contact throughout the year.
We work from our offices at 82 King Street in Manchester city centre and Cresta House in Wilmslow, and with clients across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
Common questions
When should we review tax planning?
Ideally before the tax year ends on 5 April and before your company year end, so there is still time to act. We diarise both for clients.
Do you only deal with company owners?
Most of our tax clients own or run a business, but we also act for their families, landlords and contractors.
Is Making Tax Digital for Income Tax relevant to me?
It applies to sole traders and landlords whose qualifying income is above the threshold, which falls in stages. We will tell you if and when it applies and set up compliant software.
